Eight acres in Bellingham — grown with love
Sowing seeds of sustainability — one stem at a time.
We're a small team of growers and designers farming 8 acres in Bellingham, Washington — on the traditional lands of the Nooksack people. Since 2016, we've been growing an abundance of flowering plants and foliage using organic practices and a lot of genuine love for this land and the people who tend it.
A working flower farm rooted in place
We're a small team of growers and designers farming 8 acres in Bellingham, Washington — on the traditional lands of the Nooksack people. Since 2016, we've been growing an abundance of flowering plants and foliage using organic practices and a lot of genuine love for this land and the people who tend it.
Every stem that leaves this farm was grown right here — not imported, not wholesaled from another grower. When you buy from Free Range Flowers, you know exactly where your flowers come from.
Free Range Flowers are gifts we grow — and it is a gift to grow them.
Organically grown — and then some
We grow organically and go further than that. Most farms define organic as no synthetic pesticides, no chemical fertilizers. We use beyond organic practices — because we believe the way we grow matters as much as what we grow.
Compost, cover crops & crop rotation
We build living soil year after year — soil that grows healthier, more vibrant plants with every season.
Organic & locally-sourced inputs
We know where our fertilizer comes from. No mystery inputs — just honest, traceable growing.
Biodiverse & perennial plantings
Our fields support pollinators and long-term soil health — we grow with the whole ecosystem in mind.
Rainwater fed
We collect rainwater for irrigation — making the most of the Pacific Northwest's natural abundance.
Rest & recharge built into our practice
Exhausted farmers don't grow vibrant flowers. We build rest and care into how we work, not just how we grow.
Living wages for everyone
Every person on our team earns a living wage — because the people who grow your flowers deserve to thrive too.
The shared actions of cultivating healthy soil, sowing seeds, propagating plants and harvest create a sense of belonging and connection to place.
Farming doesn't happen in isolation
We're active member-growers of the Seattle Wholesale Growers Market Cooperative, advocates for farmworker rights, and committed buyers from other small and local businesses. We invite feedback, grow from it, and try to give back more than we take.
The farm is also a place. It offers something beyond flowers — a safe space to bring our full selves forward, to learn, to connect to nature, and to imagine what healthy community looks and feels like.
We are actively building a workplace we don't need to escape from: working towards year-round employment, comfortable working spaces, strong systems, and real care for the people who show up every day.
